The
Vermont Housing Data website, also known as HousingData.org, provides Vermonters with tools for making more informed decisions about affordable housing. HousingData.org is the premier place to find high quality data and research about Vermont’s housing landscape. The site has three sections:
Community Data Profiles: data about Vermont’s housing market, available at the town, county, and state level;
Housing Resource Toolbox: strategies and best practices to support affordable housing in every Vermont community;
Directory of Affordable Rental Housing (DoARH): a listing of the subsidized rental apartments in Vermont.
In addition to administering its core home purchase and rental financing programs, Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) maintains HousingData.org through its department of Research & Community Relations. VHFA maintains HousingData.org as the site is regularly used by partners and advocates to promote affordable, safe housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income Vermonters, in close alignment with the agency’s mission.
The site, originally created in 2003, has been maintained by VHFA with additional support from AARP-Vermont, TD Foundation, the Vermont Community Development Program and the Vermont Association of Planning and Development Agencies (VAPDA). The Housing-Ready Toolbox was created through a partnership of The Fair Housing Project of CVOEO’s Thriving Communities initiative, the Vermont Department of Housing & Community Development, and Vermont Housing Finance Agency.
