Registration is open for the Vermont Statewide Housing Conference on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Hilton Burlington. After cancelling the conference in 2020, resuming this in-person, biennial conference feels like a welcome step out of the upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic towards our “new normal.” Throughout this year’s conference, we will frame topics in terms of what each of us in our various roles can do to solve the housing crisis faced by Vermont

With a theme of “What YOU can do to help solve the housing crisis,” an exciting line-up of interactive, cutting-edge sessions will cover policy tools, community case studies and strategies for pulling together the pieces needed to solve big housing problems. This event typically draws over 400 attendees, including legislators, town and regional planners, advocates, developers and bankers. Attendee evaluations from previous conferences have been consistently positive about the many opportunities to network, learn, and be inspired.

The conference will provide a full day of learning and collaborating, starting with a breakfast reception allowing you to network with our state’s legislators. The conference’s keynote speaker, Cornell Professor Sara Bronin will discuss her work on how law and policy can foster more equitable, sustainable, and connected places. Next, Vermont's new member of the U.S. House of Representatives has been invited to share remarks about housing priorities as they begin work in Washington, DC.

After lunch, the conference will head into workshops to learn about the latest tools and best practices on housing affordability and inclusivity issues, including a special two-part Housing 101 session aimed at attendees new to the affordable housing industry.

Since making new connections and renewing existing ones are critical to putting ideas into practice, there will be plenty of networking breaks and a late afternoon reception overlooking beautiful Lake Champlain.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available, which include benefits like free registrations and a variety of opportunities to promote your organization. Signing up to be a sponsor is easy through our online form.
